The “Better Off Dead” Camaro

I know some of you out there are fans of the cult 80’s teen comedy “Better Off Dead,” because I’m personally responsible for making a lot you that way. I love the movie. It’s one of my favorites, and my brother even own the soundtrack on CD, but we all pale in comparison to this guy.

File Encryption 4 U

I recently discovered an open-source utility that lets you store files on-the-fly into a strongly encrypted virtual drive. Pretty handy if you want to keep your private information truly private, even if someone else somehow gets access to your files. Pretty ideal especially if you store any sensitive data on portable media (USB pen drives, etc). The program is called TrueCrypt. It works for Linux and Windows 2000 or greater. I understand MacOSX already has a feature like this built in. There’s also something called Remora Disk Guard which I haven’t used, but also came recommended.

Yet Another Social Application

There is a new online social application thing called Listal that is up where people can rate different types of media like music, movies, books, games, etc. Yadda yadda yadda. I believe Friendster and MySpace have a similar feature, but I think this one is more focused specifically on sharing suggestions and review for these things. Okay, I’ll bite.

Custom Radio

If you’ve never heard of the Music Genome Project or Pandora, then you might find it really interesting. It’s radio customized to help you find music you might like. You enter in the names of artists and songs you like, and it will try to find songs with similar attributes. You can even share your customized station with your friends! Requires Flash.

Someone pointed me to this a long time ago, but I’ve recently revisited and starting the compile/hone a station that would sound something like I would do if I got to broacast my own radio station. You can always look it up and check on it’s progess by clicking here.

Childhood Memories Raped Once Again

Looks like this may get around pretty quickly.

Funny AND scary.
